This resource relates to Would you rather questions. Children must choose one of the questions posed and have the option of saying why they chose that answer. There are a set of worksheets with follow-up activities and Would You Rather … cards. You can use: before the main lesson as a fun activity, fill in extra time use in circle time/citizenship use as a back to school activity to create conversation use it as a way to get children talking and listening. Some of questions are funny, silly and make children thing about serious issues in a light-hearted way. Content: Teacher Notes 5 Worksheets A to E 52 Cards (laminate to use again and again) A set of Why cards Blank worksheets for children to make up their own Would You Rather … questions Interviewing each other - Select the worksheets you want to use and put children in pairs so that they can interview each other and put a tick next to the question they choose. As a follow-up optional activity, children can write a list of the response of the person they interviewed - please see preview pane. 52 cards - Just shuffle and lay face down on table, players take turns to take a card to read and chose their answer. They must choose one or the other. You don’t have to use all the cards - you can differentiate and select the cards that you want the children to use. In this All About Me resource the questions are set in hexagonal tiles for students to complete. There are 3 types of activities. Content: Teacher Notes Worksheet 1 - 6 tiles with questions and children draw a picture of themselves in the middle. (UK and US spelling). Worksheet 2(Easier) (x4) - These worksheets consist of 3 questions on each page with red borders and children answer the questions inside hexagons with blue borders. The last tile always requires children to draw a picture of: themselves, a toy, what they are good at, an animal they would like to be. Worksheet 3 - Children trace over the sentences and finish them off in their own words. Lastly, they draw a picture in each of the three hexagons. Worksheet 4 - Children trace over a set of different sentences and finish off in their own words. Lastly, they draw a picture in each of the three hexagons. Please see preview pane. All About Me booklet. Ideal for Year 1/2, ESL, EFL and EAL students. Teacher’s Notes included. Use it during the first week back at school and find out about the children you’ll be teaching and children can find out about each other’s family and interests. The front page of the booklet, which is editable, comes in 7 border colours: plain white, blue, red, yellow, purple, green and grey. On the front page is a doodle box for children to doodle away and make their cover unique. The rest of the pages are for children to: do a self portrait write their age write who they live with draw the people they live with write three favourite things they like to do write and draw their favourite animal, TV show, colour and food A page about ‘More about me’ - children write a special day they like to celebrate, a place to visit, favourite subjects and what they want to be when they grow up. This product is on the topic of All About Me. Aimed at: Reception/Year1 and Year 2. Use for ESL/EFL students for speaking about themselves and about other people. <strong>Content:</strong> • Teacher Notes (2 pages) • 42 Question Cards (colour and plain background) – Laminate and cut out • Rules for whole class activities using the question cards • Digit cards 1 – 32 (patterned and plain): Laminate and cut out • Worksheet (1 page) • Blank question and digit cards for your use **The question cards can be used in various ways. ** This is option 2. Arrange students in a semi-circle. Whole class activity – Laminate and cut out the flashcard numbers and randomly hand them out to the students. Print, laminate and cut out the question cards and place a selection in the centre. You select a question card and then to choose a student to answer the question, say ‘I want whoever has number 7 to answer the question.’ The student that has card number 7 answers the question. If you would like other students to answer the same question, then just say e.g. ‘I want whoever has card number, e.g. 23, to answer the same question.’ Depending on timing, you can decide on how many questions to select from the pack. Working in Pairs or small groups Students shuffle some question cards and lay them face down on the table. They take turns to turn over a card and ask each other questions. Worksheet – All About Me This is a single worksheet for students to complete. This resource pack is on the theme of All About Me - PSHE link. Updated with PowerPoint Name Spinner You can use it as an icebreaker in the first week of term to find out about your students and they can find out about each other’s similarities and differences. <strong>Content</strong> Teacher’s Notes Learning Objectives and starter activity How to use the PowerPoint Presentation generator questions/names PowerPoint Presentation to randomly generate questions - I have typed in the questions. Start the Slide Show and then click on From Beginning icon. Press the ‘s’ key to stop and the PowerPoint will automatically stop on a question. Start the generator again by pressing the spacebar. PowerPoint Presentation to randomly select names in your class - I have set up the presentation - just type in the names of your students and save. Then as above go into Slide Show and then click From Beginning. The presentation will randomly generate the names. Press the ‘s’ key to stop and the PowerPoint will automatically stop on a name. To start the generator again hit the spacebar. It is a good idea to save the PowerPoint as another name ‘Save As’ so that you retain the original. 38 Question cards - A selection of question cards to print, laminate and cut out -this resource can be used with Activity Sheet 3 or use in the suggested activity in the Teacher’s Notes.
